Rosemount's Big Water Meeting Is This Thursday (Today)
Rosemount is hosting a water quality community meeting Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. at the Steeple Center—with experts from the Minnesota Department of Health, DNR, MPCA, and Dakota County all in the room. The big topic: Well #8 and the gross alpha radiation issue the city's been working through since January.
Burnsville's Burnhaven Library Reopens in 2027 & What’s New
Burnhaven Library closed in April for a full interior remodel and reopens spring 2027 with two new conference rooms, a bigger kids' area, and an enclosed quiet study room. A possible outdoor patio with honeycrisp apple trees is still in planning.
Rosemount Is Giving Free Water Filter Pitchers to Families with Babies
Starting around July 1, any Rosemount household with a baby 0–12 months old can get a free filter pitcher plus a year's supply of filters—just show up at Public Works with proof of residency and the baby's age. It's about manganese, a natural metal in the groundwater that can run high for infants drinking formula.

South Metro Scoop is free and always will be. If you want to help keep it going, you can chip in below. Every bit helps.
