Eagan Can't Ban Data Centers, So It's Writing the Rulebook Instead

City staff said it plainly: "We can't just prohibit data centers." So Eagan is racing a February 2027 deadline to write rules on noise, power draw, and a low-frequency hum you can feel but not hear, and the one data center already here uses about 7 million gallons of water a year.

Burnsville Is Out of Land for New Homes, So It's Eyeing Its Own Backyard

The city just reviewed all 425 parcels it owns and flagged 22 as potentially developable, with the mayor putting it bluntly: "We have no single family housing land left. None." Her top pick is a 9-acre southwest site, but there's a catch, it's currently protected natural space that neighbors would have a say in rezoning.
