Farmington is home to something that's the biggest of its kind in Minnesota. What?

Lakeville Moves to Block Giant Data Centers
On July 23, Lakeville's Planning Commission recommended rules that would effectively ban the huge multi-building "campus" data centers and force smaller ones through a public hearing and studies on water, energy, and noise. The City Council makes the final call August 3rd.
Rosemount Approves $50M Aerospace Complex by Meta Site
Northwind Test got the green light July 28 to build the Minnesota Aerospace Complex on 60 acres near UMore Park, bringing around 200 high-tech jobs and 3,000-plus construction workers. Worried about noise? The study says it stays at refrigerator level at the nearest home, about 3,250 feet away.
15 Concerts Hit Mystic Lake Amphitheater This August
Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Santana & The Doobie Brothers, and Dave Matthews Band all roll through Shakopee in a single 31-day stretch. That's rock, metal, country, and hip-hop right in our backyard, and the big shows sell out fast.

South Metro Scoop is free and always will be. If you want to help keep it going, you can chip in below. Every bit helps.
